Nadaaniyan (2025) English Subtitle - Ibrahim Ali Khan & Khushi Kapoor’s Nadaaniyan Disappoints on Netflix

Nadaaniyan is a teen romantic comedy that attempts to blend privilege, rebellion, and romance but struggles to leave a lasting impact. Directed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment, the film marks the debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan alongside Khushi Kapoor in a story about a privileged South Delhi teenager who hires a boyfriend-for-revenge, only to develop real feelings for him.

The premise had potential—a modern take on class divides and youthful defiance—but the execution falters. The screenplay by Ishita Moitra, Riva Razdan Kapoor, and Jehan Handa feels formulaic, offering predictable conflicts and resolutions. While Ibrahim Ali Khan shows promise, his performance lacks depth, making it hard to connect with his character, Arjun. Khushi Kapoor delivers a more convincing portrayal as Pia, balancing teenage angst and vulnerability.

Despite a stellar supporting cast, including Mahima Chaudhry, Dia Mirza, and Suniel Shetty, their characters remain underdeveloped. The film also fails to establish a compelling emotional core, relying instead on glossy visuals and a peppy soundtrack by Sachin–Jigar. While tracks like "Ishq Mein" and "Nadaaniyan" add energy, they don’t elevate the overall narrative.

Anuj Samtani’s cinematography captures the vibrancy of South Delhi’s elite world and the contrasting realities of Noida, but the editing by Vaishnavi Bhate and Sidhanth Seth feels disjointed at times. Tushar Lall’s background score is functional but unmemorable.

Critically panned for its shallow storytelling, Nadaaniyan lacks the charm and emotional weight needed for a coming-of-age romance. It had the ingredients for a compelling watch but fails to rise above clichés, making it an underwhelming addition to Netflix’s 2025 lineup.
