🎬 Jigris (2025) English Subtitle and Review – Four Friends, One Rusty Maruti 800, and a Trip That Refuses to Go According to Plan

🔥 Jigris (2025) English Subtitle – okay, let me be honest with you. There’s something undeniably appealing about a road trip comedy where everything that can go wrong does go wrong. And Jigris, the Telugu buddy comedy directed by debutant Harish Reddy Uppula, leans into that chaos with everything it has. Four friends. One life-altering diagnosis. A Goa trip with no money, no phones, and no GPS. And a rusty Maruti 800 that seems determined to make sure they never arrive .

🎯 Jigris is a Telugu comedy drama that had its theatrical release on November 14, 2025, and is now streaming on Sun NXT [citation:4][citation:10]. The film follows four childhood friends who have drifted apart, caught up in the routines of adult life. When one of them reveals a life-altering diagnosis, they decide to reunite for one last adventure: a reckless trip to Goa, leaving behind their phones, their money, and their fears. What follows is a wild, chaotic journey that changes them forever [citation:4].

😅 The premise is familiar territory. Friends reuniting for one last hurrah. A road trip that goes haywire. The ghosts of The Hangover and every Goa trip movie ever made hover over the proceedings. And Jigris has moments where it threatens to become exactly that – a generic buddy comedy. But the film’s commitment to non-stop humor and its surprising emotional depth in the final stretch give it a distinct identity. As one IMDb reviewer put it, “It refreshed my memories from ‘The Hangover’, and few other Goa trip movies, however it stands out as different as the dialogues and fun was non-stop and entertainment guaranteed” .

💔 The critical response has been mixed, with audience reactions ranging from ecstatic to frustrated. Plex shows an audience rating of 7.5/10 [citation:1]. IMDb reviews are sharply divided. One reviewer called it “a vibrant entertainer that delivers pure fun with emotion, action, and solid performances” and praised the “excellent chemistry” between the lead actors . Another simply wrote: “None of the characters left an impression. It was just gag after another and just loud and annoying. Yes, they tried to show it as a feel good movie and to make memories. But to reach that point I had to endure 2 hours of loud torture” . Letterboxd reviews echo this divide, with some calling it “easily the worst film I’ve watched” while others praise it as “a fun, nostalgic ride celebrating friendship and mischief” .

🎭 Krishna Burugula leads the ensemble, and his comic timing has been widely praised. One IMDb reviewer noted that he “gave an outstanding performance with his comic timing” . Ram Nithin (known from the MAD franchise), Dheeraj Aathreya, and Mani Vaka round out the four leads, with reviewers noting that “all 4 guys nailed the performance” [citation:3]. The chemistry between the friends is consistently singled out as the film’s strongest asset. As one Letterboxd reviewer put it, “Jigris is a fun, nostalgic ride celebrating friendship and mischief. With hilarious episodes and heartfelt camaraderie, it feels like watching your own gang on screen” .

🎬 The film’s technical aspects are solid. The music by Kamran Syed has been praised, with the travel song “Thirige Bhoomi” released ahead of the film as a single [citation:3]. Eeswaraditya’s cinematography is described as “clean and vibrant, enhancing the film’s overall feel-good atmosphere” . Chanakya Reddy Toorupu’s editing keeps the pace brisk, though some reviewers felt the runtime could have been trimmed . The film runs approximately 2 hours 20-30 minutes [citation:1][citation:5].

📊 The audience response has been passionate. The film has found a dedicated fanbase, with many comparing it favorably to E Nagaraniki Emaindhi (ENE), the cult Telugu buddy comedy. One Letterboxd reviewer wrote: “If you love E Nagaraniki Emaindhi then don’t miss this, same kinda movie with good comedy & emotional scenes really worked well” . The film’s emotional climax has been particularly praised, with viewers noting that the final 20 minutes deliver genuine pathos after all the chaos .

📺 The film is streaming on Sun NXT [citation:10]. English subtitles are expected to be available on the platform, though specific confirmation for this title is limited. Some sources also list availability on Amazon Prime Video as a rental option [citation:13].

⭐ Here’s my take – Jigris is a film that knows exactly what it wants to be: a loud, chaotic, and ultimately heartfelt buddy comedy about friendship and the fear of losing it. Krishna Burugula and the ensemble cast bring genuine chemistry to the screen, and the film’s commitment to non-stop humor makes it an easy watch for anyone who loves road trip comedies. But the predictable plot, uneven pacing, and divisive comedy style won’t work for everyone. As one reviewer put it, “It has a lot of flaws but I loved it” . And honestly, that might be the most accurate summary of all.

🎯 If you’re a fan of buddy comedies, if you enjoyed films like E Nagaraniki Emaindhi, or if you’re looking for a light, entertaining watch on Sun NXT with English subtitles – Jigris is worth a try. It’s not a masterpiece. But it’s a fun ride.

👥 Jigris (2025) Cast & Crew – A Strong Ensemble in a Chaotic Road Trip

What worked for me:

• ✅ Genuine chemistry between the four leads – “All 4 guys nailed the performance”
• ✅ Non-stop comedy – “The dialogues and fun was non-stop and entertainment guaranteed”
• ✅ Surprising emotional depth – “An Out and Out Entertainer till the pre-climax and emotional at the end”
• ✅ Krishna Burugula’s comic timing – “Outstanding performance with his comic timing”
• ✅ Catchy music – The travel song “Thirige Bhoomi” and the background score elevate the mood [citation:3]

🎯 Final Verdict

So here’s the thing about Jigris (2025) – it’s a film that knows exactly what it wants to be: a loud, chaotic, and ultimately heartfelt buddy comedy about friendship and the fear of losing it. Krishna Burugula and the ensemble cast bring genuine chemistry to the screen, and the film’s commitment to non-stop humor makes it an easy watch for anyone who loves road trip comedies.

The film’s greatest strength is its emotional core. Underneath all the chaos and comedy, there’s a genuine story about friends who have drifted apart and the terrifying realization that one of them might not be around forever. As one reviewer put it, “It beautifully shows the true meaning of friendship, emotions, and lifelong bonds” .

The film’s greatest weakness is its inconsistency. The comedy doesn’t land for everyone, the plot meanders, and the runtime could be tighter. But for those who connect with its vibe, Jigris is a ride worth taking.

The film is streaming on Sun NXT [citation:10]. English subtitles are expected to be available on the platform. If you’re a fan of buddy comedies, if you enjoyed films like E Nagaraniki Emaindhi, or if you’re looking for a light, entertaining watch – Jigris is worth a try.

My Verdict: 6.5/10 – Four friends, one rusty Maruti 800, and a trip that refuses to go according to plan. Strong chemistry and genuine emotional depth can’t quite overcome a predictable plot and divisive comedy, but for fans of the genre, it’s a fun ride. 🎬🚗
